Clean water changes everything.
In communities without access to clean water, women and girls spend hours everyday collecting dirty water. Not only does the walk for water keep children out of school and prevent women from earning an income, the water often carries diseases that make everyone sick. When a community gets access to clean water, women and girls get their lives back. They start businesses, improve their homes, and take charge of their own futures.

Why water infrastructure?
Before it is possible to relax, connect, and integrate pieces of our experiences to heal…basic needs and survival has to be ensured. Then, the physical, mental, and emotional bodies can all breathe a sigh. That’s when things like growth and change can happen - basic needs first, then self-understanding and empowerment.
Each human deserves dignified access to four life-saving areas: water, sanitation and hygiene promotion; food security and nutrition; shelter and settlement; and health.
Support access to clean, safe, readily accessible water to make the fundamental daily living activities much easier, and efficient to tackle, specifically women who typically are responsible for gathering fresh water.
With basic needs more easily met, there are significant amounts of focus and energy that can now be redirected into other activities to increase fulfillment, pleasure, and social cohesion (i.e., education, play, family connection, community engagement, etc.).

Seeds of Change
Businesses are part of our urban ecosystem, and modern world. There is no reason that we can’t have a more symbiotic relationship with commerce and our economy - it is a human-made thing after all. Why can we not make it work FOR us, more specifically, in a way that serves ALL of us, in a healthy way? Well, the truth of the matter is we can! Many also do, and I will be taking a queue from the folks who have shown me that you can use your business to expand your contributions to our collective society in ways that lift everyone up. We can be stewards of our natural, urban, social, political, and technological environments and spaces, to manifest the reality that we desire and truly need to thrive! Phew, sounds like a hell of a mission, lots of work, and all that fun jazz…so!
